A Mexico Babymoon. Part 2.

After spending two days in Puerto Vallarta, the hubs and I decided to head south to Sayulita, our magic place. We were married in this gem of a little town a year and a half ago, and have the fondest memories of our wedding week here.  We were so looking forward to being back, reflecting on our wedding, and now having a baby to look forward to in the new year.  There couldn't have been a more perfect place for us to take one last vacation before life really changes...

We spent a week relaxing in the most heavenly house, Casa Dos Chicos, a place designed by a Chicago architect that's nestled in the green hills of Sayulita.  There are three levels to the house, four bedrooms, a swimming pool and a roof top spa, and best of all- hammocks to nap in while you take in the view on the top floor living room.  It's straight out of a travel magazine.

When we weren't napping in hammocks we ran around the town reliving memories.  Taking pictures with Sarah here, eating lunch with our friends there, drinking margaritas in that spot...  It was wonderfully nostalgic and insanely relaxing at the same time.

And no trip to Sayulita would have been complete without a stop by Villa Amor, the actual location where we got married.  We stood where we said our vows, climbed the million stairs to where our reception was, and even snuck into the honeymoon suite where we stayed to look around again.

The trip was perfect (if not a little sweaty and humid), but we spent much time sitting by the pool, drinking mocktails for me and margaritas for him, and enjoying some quiet time in our magical place.  We can't wait to go back with our little one in tow!

Vows.

In looking back at my wedding this last week, I've been thinking a lot about the vows we exchanged down in Mexico.  They were beautiful, from the heart and took a long time to write.   I cried as I typed them, my husband sobbed in front of our friends reading them, and our moms grabbed hands as we recited them.  I never, ever want to forget the emotion that went into that day and the words we said to each other.

And now, we walk by them everyday.  A present for my husband, for us, the gift of never forgetting, they hang on the wall in our living room.  Our vows to each other typed and framed.  A memory of the beginning of our forever.

Sayulita Dreams.

I've said it a million times. I had the best. wedding. ever.  Not to brag or anything but it was like a pinch me, am I dreaming kind of week down in Sayulita.  I truly hope everyone feels that way about their wedding, but when I look at the pictures again, I'm reminded of that feeling all over again.  Pure magic with my 60 favorite people, my amazing friend, Sarah Yates, capturing it all, and the raddest of the rad, Michael Antonia, providing the soundtrack (and helping us finish off some tequila).  We danced, drank, soaked in the sun, befriended a dog or two along the way, and slowed time down for a night on a rooftop high above the town.  Other world-ly.  And I wanna go back and do it all over again.  Now.

So, you're probably sick of hearing and seeing it all, but I'm basking in this sunny Sayulita glory for one more day.  You can hear the tunes to our love story here (thanks Michael for recording it all!), and you can get the full story over on SMP.  And now, here are my personal favorites from my very favorite day ever.

T.
