Box of Pretty.

We had an amazing 1st anniversary!  An awesome stay-cation spent basically eating our way through San Francisco.  We received cards, phone calls and the sweetest emails.  Big hug thank you to everyone for the sweet words.  We also received this insanely gorgeous present from Miss Tori and Miss Farra.  Are you two kidding me right now?  Our wedding invite, little items to remind us of our honeymoon in New Zealand (hence the stuffed animal), a book on modern interiors, Jonathan Adler wine stoppers, the list goes on & on.  Thank you for the beautiful gifts and of course your always impeccable presentation.

xoxo, Myka & G

April 24.

Happy Happy Happy 1st wedding anniversary to G.  This past year has been just as incredible as the past 11 (wowza) that we've spent together.  Our wedding day was SO amazing! I still don't know if I can express in words the feelings I had that weekend.  All of our favorite people together in a little town that I love so much.  It was a dream!

G, I totally love you love your show.

xoxo, M

Small Spaces.

Yes, it's true, I just love love love to talk about how G and I need a larger space.  Living in a 1-bedroom, 650 square foot apartment has me yearning for MORE room (I didn't know that having a garbage disposal in San Francisco was a luxury....a 2nd bedroom, pretty much outta the question).  But truth be told, I secretly love our cozy little space.  It's warm and bright and a block away from some of the cutest restaurants.  Although I hope one day to have just a bit larger of a nook to call an actual office, right now I'm completely in love with our home!

And check out this place.  The other night I dug back into my old Domino Magazine stash and was reminded of the 400 square foot studio Rashida Jones has in New York!  Love it!

Holiday Happiness.

I'm totally with Tori on this one, I'm always a little bummed out when Christmas is over.  I get so excited about spending time with my family & G's, that the day after I'm already looking forward to the next year!  This year we headed up to Portland a week early to celebrate with my brother, his oh so adorable family, and my madre.  The majority of our visit consisted of lots & lots of kid time with my niece and nephew...that left me smiling for days!  We spent Christmas day with G's family and my dad here in the bay area.  It was wonderful and so much food was inhaled that I think I may still be full!  G's mom put together quite the holiday tablescape.  I was very impressed with her "White Christmas" decor.  She even handmade those wreaths and mini trees using pages from old dictionaries....they were amazing!!!  These past two weeks with our families have been beyond wonderful and I'm already wanting it to be Christmas 2011!  In order to cure my post-holiday blues, I'm focusing on New Year's Eve and what oh what should I wear?!?  Hmmmmm, still deciding between feathers or sequins.  Will keep ya posted!

Wine in Waiheke.

The honeymoon just kept getting better and better.  Next we hopped on a ferry and headed to Waiheke Island for the day to enjoy one of my fave hobbies, wine tasting!  The views from the ferry were breathtaking.  The blue-green water was mesmerizing and we couldn't help but smile.  We arrived to the island and quickly headed to the first winery, Mudbrick.  Sitting in the middle of a winery, on an island (!), surrounded by gorgeous water is something that I will never forget.

We also headed over to Cable Bay winery and explored the outdoor art sculptures.  We instantly fell in love with the place.

We could hardly believe it, but our trip was very soon coming to an end (sad face).  We headed back to the city and spent the last evening of our trip in Auckland.  We ate more scrumptious food and walked around downtown taking in every last bit of the energy of this place (and even spotted a giant Santa).  This trip was crazy fun....filled with so many great memories!  G and I truly can't stop talking about it & we can't wait to go back.

Goodbye New Zealand, we already miss you!
