A Wedding Quilt.
Tuesday, February 15, 2011 Not too long ago, the hubs and I received an amazing delivery and I just had to share. It's such a beautiful heirloom type present that I think everyone may need this token from their wedding day. My mom and I had spent months collecting, cutting and sewing assorted fabrics into napkins before carefully packing them into our carry on luggage and hauling them down to Mexico for my wedding. At the end of the night our friend Barbara went around and silently collected the remnants while the rest of us danced the night away in a tequila haze. I never gave them a second thought. To see these amazing reminders of that day all over again in a handsewn quilt was just darn rad. Possibly the best present yet. Here they were, memories of Mexico. Something to snuggle next to the fire with, to wrap our future children in, and to pass on to another generation. Our wedding quilt. Pretty special I must say.
So should you be collecting, cutting and sewing just like I was, be sure to create something magical from it. You'll be glad you did.
xo,
T.
