Chair Whore.
Monday, June 21, 2010 For many years, I (Tori) worked at Design Within Reach. And during that time I became quite the chair whore. Eiffel, Eames rockers, Bertoia, Ghost, french cafe chairs. You name it and I probably own it. Some may even be taking up residence in my garage. When you are surrounded by beautiful furniture every day it somehow seems to feel like a necessity in life. And let's face it, practicality is not one of my strong suits. So I was totally, gleefully happy to see this smilebooth by Our Labor of Love featuring one of my favorite subjects: The Chair. And it took me down memory lane a little bit to see that this was shot at DWR. Not surprisingly, the last shot with the doggy is my favorite (I used to squeal with delight anytime a client brought their dog in).
*Check out one of my favorite shots of my dog, Lola, from my DWR days, here. In a Womb chair.

GUILTY. it's gotten so bad that i'm now buying coffee table books about chairs. good news: we are on the hunt for a little kitchen table for our new place and when we find that I get to get 4 more chairs! Yippee!!!!
4 ghost chairs please. Saving pennies so I can get a few of my own - hopefully sooner than later!
